Veronique describes the Maya weaving techniques of a co-operative run exclusively by women in the Mexican state of Chiapas (near Guatemala). She actually supports their action through an association she has created with a friend.
The topic she develops in the article is the use of supplementary warp and weft in Jacquard and how to create them in Pointcarré.

In 1978, Veronique decided to live in Mexico. During two years, she studies textile art there. Back in France, she joined the Manufactures Nationales des Gobelins. She then took dobby weave courses at the Atelier National d’Art Textile (ANAT) in Paris. In 1985, she received a grant from the Mobilier National to carry on her researches about pre-hispanic textile in Mexico. She works today as an independant textile designer specializing in upholstery and is based in Normandy..
