Reduce any imported artwork to a clean indexed palette matched to the exact number of yarn colors available on the creel, ready for tufting.
Broadloom
Pointcarre has become the new reference for carpet manufacturers worldwide. Developed in partnership with tufting machine manufacturers CMC, Tuftco and Modra, the Tuft module combines an intuitive, AI powered workflow with a highly realistic broadloom simulation.
Tufting Solution for Broadloom Carpets
Edit a technical view of your carpet, showing its construction: each color can be expressed by an index number, a yarn letter or a pile symbol, and see your carpet with an ultra realistic simulation.

Key Features
Software built alongside carpet designers, to meet their exact needs
Needle Bar & Gauge
Single or double needle bar, Straight, Staggered, Inline or Unequal arrangement, with the full range of standard gauges from 1/2 to 5/64 inch.
Loop, Cut & Shearing
Up to 100 pile heights per document, loop or cut assigned zone by zone, plus a shearing setting for sculptured, tip sheared surfaces.
ColorPoint Simulation
Exclusive on screen reproduction of CMC ColorPoint technology, for multi color per needle constructions with the free flowing color range of an Axminster loom.
Creel Formula
Up to 26 yarns per document, entered as a compact formula with Mirror, Factorize and Develop tools, and a real time color preview of the thread up.
3D Yarn Simulation
Fiber level rendering, twist, ply count, diameter and expansion, in two display modes, an interactive 3D perspective view and a flat Surface Render ready to reuse as a Tiling texture.
Apso File Import
Direct compatibility with .prj and .iff files from Apso, so studios moving on from the discontinued software keep working on their existing designs without converting a single file.
Tuft Design
Work the pattern directly in continuous repeat at true gauge scale, so the design tiles seamlessly across the full width of the carpet.
Pick every color from the Pantone®, ColorWall CSI or Archroma Color Atlas libraries, all included with Pointcarre at no extra cost.
Generate instant color variants to present several colorways to a client in minutes.
YarnMaker
Every yarn used in a Broadloom simulation can be built from scratch with YarnMaker, accessible directly from the 3D simulation panel. Fiber composition, ply count, diameter, twist and texture are all editable, so the on screen render matches the real yarn ordered from the mill.
- Full fiber construction: material composition by percentage, yarn count in dTex or Nm, ply count and twist in Z or S direction
- Realistic yarn expansion once released from the needle, calculated automatically or set by hand
- Flyaways, neps and slub formulas reproduce the natural irregularities of a real yarn strand, for a simulation that never looks artificially perfect
- Every yarn is saved as a reusable .#yn file, building a personal yarn library that can be reused across every future Broadloom design
The ECONYL regenerated nylon range is included directly inside Pointcarre.
What is ECONYL ?
ECONYL is a regenerated nylon fiber made by our partner Aquafil entirely from pre and post consumer waste, including reclaimed fishing nets and other nylon scraps. Broadloom yarns built in Econyl can be simulated directly in Pointcarre, from the first pattern to the final production file.
Tuft Simulation
Create the world's most stunning broadloom simulations
Streamline decision making with instant, real time visualization of every color variation, before a single meter is tufted.
Export
Every Broadloom design exports directly to the format the target machine expects: PCX, BMP, TIFF, PNG and PAT for image based machines, plus OTF for a full construction file with pile heights and cut/loop assignments. Direct compatibility with CMC, Tuftco, Vandewiele, Modra and sampling machines.
